Radiesse for Hands

The hands are an often forgotten area of the body that reveals our age. Many people, however, spend most or all of their anti-aging efforts on the face, while the hands are neglected.

Signs of aging of the hands include:

  • Dark spots/age spots
  • Rough, crepey or wrinkly skin texture & appearance
  • Loss of volume that makes the veins and tendons appear more pronounced

Radiesse is the first and only filler approved by the FDA for improving age-related volume loss in the hands. This cosmetic treatment creates volume in the hands which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and any pronounced veins & tendons. The natural-looking results have been proven to last for up to one year.

Benefits of this treatment:

  • Quick in-office treatment
  • Enhances the appearance of aging hands
  • Results last up to a year
  • Clinically proven safe & effective

Frequently Asked Questions

    What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is an FDA-approved injectable dermal filler composed of CAHA (calcium hydroxlapatite) microspheres in a water-based gel. This cosmetic procedure is used to treat age-related volume loss in the face and hands.

Radiesse is not animal-based and is free from animal protein.

How Long is the Treatment? Does it Hurt?

Radiesse for hands is a quick in-office treatment. A treatment usually only takes about 15 minutes per hand.

As with any injectable, there may be some discomfort, but we use a very fine needle to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. We also use topical anesthesia to further reduce any pain or discomfort.

    Does the Treatment Last?

Treatment results will vary by person, but most patients experienced fuller hands for up to one year following the treatment.

    Are There Any Side Effects?

Side effects are typically mild in nature and lasted less than 2 weeks following the procedure. Temporary swelling, mild pain and redness are common. Please see the Radiesse for Hands Patient Guide for more information on side effects & safety information.

At our office, we use CytoActive gel to reduce the risk of bruising.

    Is There Any Down Time?

It is recommended that patients try to keep hands elevated for about 24 hours following the treatment. We also recommend that patients avoid wearing rings, refrain from any strenuous activity, and minimize sun and heat exposure for approximately 48 hours post-procedure.

    What About Dark Spots?

Radiesse specifically corrects volume-related concerns of the hands. For total hand rejuvenation, we recommend including IPL treatments as part of your complete treatment plan. The IPL procedures would be scheduled separately (cannot be done at the same time to avoid any additional swelling or irritations).
